Plan to attend the All-Class reunion on Aug. 29-30 at the school.  We are making plans now to pack the house with alumni. We will be able to watch the first football game of the year vs. Summersville.    Hope you can come to help us plan.  The planning meetings will be held on the third Thursday evenings of the month at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria.  The next meeting will be on Aug. 21.  Hope to see you there Thursday at 6:30pm.  Let’s get together.  See you there.

What did you think about the Reunion?

Hey, thanks for the email....i had a wonderful time at the reunion....shame we couldnt get all of the rest to go for the every year reunion....the picnic sounds like a good deal to me....keep me posted...i am still talking to people about the reunion ( those that didnt attend that i see)...told them they missed an awesome time....think next time they will be attending....i also mentioned the possibility of the picnic....they said to let them know....so if a picnic is upcoming...let me know....in the mean time between now and the next reunion...i will be talking to folks about the next one....this one was super :) Have a great day....and thanks for everything....Gary :)

Thank you and everyone involved with working on the Reunion!! So sorry I missed it but we’d already made flight & vacation arrangements to be with my daughter and son-in-law in GA. He’s due for military deployment in July or August and we wanted to spend a few days with them before he left for Afghanistan.J.W.

Good morning Greenbrier West Alumni.
We really had an enjoyable time at the reunion this past weekend. It was great to see old friends again and it was wonderful to make new friends from the different classes. We were represented from 1969 to 2005 with a good cross section of alumni. We are happy you came. If you couldn't come to the reunion this year I wanted to say we hope you will consider joining the Alumni Association and helping us to help our home and the students who attend there now. We need your feedback on what you liked and disliked about the reunion. What would have made the reunion better for you? What would you like to do at the next all class reunion. We voted to wait a year before holding another all class reunion. but would you be interested in an association picnic or something of that nature just to keep our relationships alive. In order to be able to help the school and the students there of it will take time, talents, and treasures. So we need to figure out some fund raisers or donations from folks or businesses to provide scholarships, etc. for the school. We are still working on the non profit status and we will let you know the progress that is made toward that. If you have any reunion pics or news just send it to me and I will spread the word through the web site and the emails. Good to see you again and God Speed to you and to yours. Any ideas of mission or vision you may have just let us know what to do. Call us or email us.

What did we do at the reunion?

Presentation at the Greenbrier West Alumni Association meeting after the lunch buffet on Saturday:

(A). History – Greenbrier West Alumni Association received their State of West Virginia Certificate declaring the organization to be registered effective March 8, 2012.

(B). Estimated attendees for the two day events – 193.

(C). Memorial donations for alumni and staff are still coming in. Pictures and names can be forwarded to Ron for posting to new webpage under the ‘Memorial Page’ section.

(D). One time registration receipts to date – 18 members.

Ways to support the mission to improve academics and to award a scholarship to a GWHS graduate in 2013:

(1). To submit your one-time non-refundable registration fee - $25

(2). To make a non-refundable memorial donation - $10

(3) To pay future non-refundable annual dues - $10 per year

(4) To attend meetings to support fund raising events.

News From the Greenbrier West Alumni Association date September 5, 2012
A Public Report of the first All Class reunion at Greenbrier West High School held on June 15-16, 2012.  We wish to thank all who participated and contributed in anyway to our All-Class Reunion.   We really enjoyed meeting  old friends, making new friends from the various classes, and seeing the newly renovated school facilities.  It was great  to be home again.
Approximately 169 were in attendance for the dinner on Saturday with a total of 193 for both days. More stats and list of names of those who attended are available on our web site.
