Attention all Greenbrier West alumni. The next monthly meeting is Aug. 21 at the school cafeteria. Come and join us at 6:30pm. to make a difference. Everyone is invited to participate in the meetings If you can't attend email recommnendations or comments to any or all of the officers of the Association. .

Greenbrier West Alumni Association Inc.

GWAA Meeting       July 17, 2014

Present: Denny Barker, Bill Wallace, Kay Wilfong, Barbara Bragg, Barb’s  granddaughter Lindsay,  Bill Gibson, and Ron George Jr.

Minutes read and approved.

Discussed insurance.  Decided to go with Ron Fleshman for the reunion event liability insurance.  Kay said she would call and get Ron Fleshman. 

Barbara’s report was 1723.79 cash on  deposit. But, only 479.07 was cash available to spend.  See report at the end of this document. 

Denny said he and his company would donate the food for the tailgate party.  Ron will bring the grill.  Barbara will bring the paper products.  The parking lot party before the game will be included in the cost for the reunion event. 

We said that we wouldn’t charge for the tail gate party before the game event but include that as part of the All Class reunion package.

We discussed registering on Friday before the ball game and serving hot dogs , chips , soft drinks, etc. 

Then at 11 on Saturday,  we would gather, greet, eat in the school cafeteria area.

Like last year we discussed the activities which would include the dinner at 1pm…  meet and greet along with the slide show playing on the cafeteria monitors.  Slide show would be the year book pics.  Also, a final assembly in the auditorium with door prize presentations and dismissal at 4pm.

Bill Wallace’s  class of 1974 will be celebrating their 40 so we will give them special recognition. 

We decided to go with the same prices for Saturday on the registration from last time but just mark out the price for separate Friday pricing.     

Ron will contact the coffee club to cater for lasagna for 10 to 11 each. Kay is also going to talk to someone else about the possible catering for the event.

Kay will get the door prizes. Everyone else will also bring some door prizes.    What price about kids for the caterer?

Need folks to register at the parking lot and at the school on Saturday.  Kay said she would get seniors to come and to do that for their required community service hours. 

Ron said he would get pricing for the Tshirts.

Barb will send out the registration forms asap but first we need to agree on price for the event and for the t-shirt if it is wanted.  And then I will get some over to Bill to be put out. 

Ron will check with Stave at new river sports wear.
